Cooking lessons at Neni Kochschule
WARNING! please don´t read this or look at the video/ pictures if you´re hungry! Wink
Learning from the bests, that´s exactly what a terrible cook like me needs ;) So, about one month ago, i was invited to spend a Friday afternoon taking some cooking lessons and eating together at the Neni Kochschule. I´ve known the restaurant Neni for quite long and i love their food, but i never imagined i´d have so much fun at the cooking school!
It must´ve been the cooks, Haya and Elihay, so passionate about what they do, the great atmosphere, a cute kitchen with great details, the nice people who took part (happy i also had my lovelies @_pommegranate and @ingwervanille with me) or the tastiest food ever! I don´t know what exactly was, but it´s been one of my favorite events so far!
I´m born in Romania, but i i´m somehow Spanish at heart, because i spent the most important years of my youth there. And at the cooking school i got to experience the best mixture between the two cuisines, the Romanian and the Spanish one. Grilled aubergines, home made bread, and lots, and lots of olive oil! So fresh and savory! Not to talk about the dessert! My, oh my! Imagine a black board "painted" with hot knafeh, fresh raspberry cream, caramel and melting ice cream, where you take a spoon and start enjoying every bite! Does it make sense to you?
This is what i´m talking about, see? ;)
What else should i say? Hmm, that i love the Neni philosophy, not only the Israeli cuisine, but also the idea behind Neni Kochschule, where you cook together and than eat and share it with the family. Haya told us that sometimes they even share a dish or two with the curious people passing by on the street that look through the window. How come i didn´t know that before? ;)
I think i´ll leave you with a few pictures i took, but before some curiosities:
- Did you know that the space at Neni Kochsule used to be an old tobbaconist´s shop? They´ve kept an old door inside and the sign at the entrance, cute!!
- Did you know Haya also speaks Romanian, because her mother is originary from Romania?
- Did you know the name "NENI" comes from the initials of Haya´s 4 sons? How cool! I just found it out ;)
Thank you Nuriel for the invite! We had a blast! And also for the best goodie bag, hihi!
